    Some suggestions HG.

    1. When updating your computer stay with it.

    2. Don't use Sleep or Hibernation for a while. Get your system up and running with all the updates and programs you want for a few days. Then get into Sleep, Hibernation, monitor shut off time.

You never want anything to interfere with your updates because it can cause many problems. I know it takes a long time for the updates on a new install. Make a pot of coffee and hang in there.

    3. Get a copy of your motherboard manual and keep it handy as long as you have that motherboard.

    Note:
I have been using Windows Updates for my video card drivers for about a year now with no problems on two computers with different video cards.

Thanks, LB. Yes, the first thing I head for is Windows Update to make sure it's up to date and that they all install correctly. I have it set to auto update and check it daily that it is. My 8.1 side I'll check weekly.

Another thing I do is leave it running while not using to do its thing on maintenance. I do shut 'er down at night, though.

The video/screen problem seems to be evening out. Haven't had one all day. :)
