    Concerning scan by Disk Genius

My laptop has a relatively new SSD that I installed 2 or 3 years ago, and my laptop sees relatively light use. I just did a Disk Genius scan (SMART scan) to check its health. It showed that the percentage of its lifetime that's been used is 98%, which doesn't sound right at all. Here's what it looked like: Concerning scan by Disk Genius-screenshot-167-.png

I'm hoping it means that 98% of its life is left, but it says that's how much has been used. Seems backwards.

In this respect try one of these for greater clarity:

After 2 or 3 years there may be a firmware update for your drive, wich is were the information is read from. Can't hurt to check. I'm not sure I would trust that temp reading either. Seems too cool for a laptop. Which version of DG are you using? Below is a screen shot using DG ver. 5.50 Pro on my 6 month old nvme with current firmware installed. "Percentage used" is incorrect however. In my opinion, DG is better used for external drives. Concerning scan by Disk Genius-dgsc.jpg

I checked my DG version. It was V5.4.2.1239 x64

I saw a message saying V5..5.0.1488 x64 was available, so I opted for the update.
Somehow, I ended up with V5.5.1.1508 x64. But I guess that's an improvement.

I ran another scan, and got the expected result--that 98% is the remaining life left instead of what has been used. The temperature is lower than last night's reading, but my house temp is 53 F, so that might be the reason. Here's a screenshot of the latest scan:

    That explains it.
