Assuming the abrupt power down has somehow corrupted your O/S you do have two other potential options I mentioned above.

Important: remember that you need to make sure you have ways to recover from bad situations as far as you can. "Be prepared"

If you are thinking that it's a hardware problem, then create and boot your PC from a live boot disk (Google if unsure what that is hint- Hiren's, Bob Omb's etc) and see if your disk is then accessible.

I don't think it's a hardware issue as it works under Win 11.

    Try a Repair Install

It almost sounds as a classic ghost device hang.

I dont remember the command in CMD to do it from normal boot.. but on win7 you could login with safe mode, open device manager, show hidden/all devices i think it was.. then delete all grayed Ghost devices that is in the system..
Then reboot the system into normal and attach the device and most often windows then find the device again.

I have a feeling that still goes for win10.. windows is still windows, even i have not used win10 myself and have been using Linux for the last 5½years.... But if my memory dont fail me, then it might be a ghost device problem.

    admin cmd prompt
    set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

but I doubt that is the problem

I have run in to that on win XP+win7 systems a few times.. when a device is incorrect disconnected/interrupted and the system hangs/locks up the device as a ghost and uninstall the device/devicedriver can get the system to re-detect them again
but as i said.. i have not used or administrated win10 systems as i went over to Linux after win7EOL, but i believe windows is still windows.. and some times old tricks still works even generations later.

There is also ghostbuster which some might find easier. Little portable program about 1.2mb

I have never worked with the Ghostbuster program, as i mostly used windows own tools or OEM tools when i worked with computers..

But disconnect the drive from your computer and boot up win10... then in Device manager or Ghostbuster uninstall all Devices that is associated to your eSATA disk(both ghost and non-ghosts all that are associated to the eSATA disk). Then you can re-attach the drive while the computer is on and then search for new devices..

afterwords when the drive popup in windows device manager, but might still dont show in disk-management or explorer.. Right click on your e-SATA device in windows Device manager and update/reinstall the driver in case some driver-file have been corrupted by the power outage your friend did by pulling the plug.. or download your motherboard OEM drivers and reinstall them.
always remember to check in disk management, as it can be that the drives do shows, but don't have an assign drive letter, so you manually have to add one to make explorer see the disk

darn its hard to pick all from memory without having access to windows in front of me. *lol*

The problem is this drive simply installed itself when plugged in. There's nothing to uninstall.
The drive popup in Devices is not seeing it. It holds all my backups hence no restore points available in C: as mention before.
When I boot into 11 I can access it but not in BIOS or in 10. It's totally bizarre.
There is no option to uninstall it in Ghostbuster either.
