    Ok, do this...

Get Minitool Partition Wizard and install it.
Best Free Partition Manager for Windows | MiniTool Partition Wizard Free

Then right click and DELETE everything on Disk 2.. click Apply in lower left corner.
Then, when all you have is unallocated space... create however many partitions you want.

Make them NTFS and default cluster size. Don't change anything else. You can pick the drive letter and the Partition Label.
You can use the left and right sliders to adjust the partition size. Work from left to right when creating partitions.

Do one partition at a time. Click OK, then click Apply in lower left.

OK... I get it... just a second...
It seems that EaseUS Partition Master can do that without losing data. Gimme a sec to see if the free version can do it.

Thank gawd I don't have to type all this...

Convert to Dynamic Disk | Convert Dynamic Disk to Basic Without Losing Data – EaseUS

    Here's the specific instructions...

Convert Dynamic Disk to Basic or Basic Disk to Dynamic FAQs

If you still have problems after using the 6 methods, you can read on to get additional help.
Can you convert a dynamic disk to basic without losing data?

The basic disk can be directly converted to a dynamic disk using the Windows disk management tool in the supported system without data loss. However, if you must convert the dynamic disk to a basic one, you have to delete all the volumes and data on the dynamic disk with Disk Management. However, with professional dynamic disk converter EaseUS Partition Master, you have no problem converting dynamic disk to basic without data loss.

Steps to convert dynamic to basic disk in Windows 10/8/7:

Step 1. Install and open EaseUS Partition Master on your Windows computer.

Step 2. Select the dynamic disk which you want to convert to basic.

Step 3. Right-click it and choose Convert to Basic. Click OK on the pop-up window and you will add this conversion to the pending operations.

Step 4. Click the Execute 1 Operation button at the top-left corner and Apply it to begin to convert dynamic to basic disk.

Has anyone noticed that Disk 2 is a dynamic disk?
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...-dynamic-disks
I'm wondering why... Storage Spaces? RAID?

    1. it seems you do have data on it you want to keep, even though your first post indicated you wanted to format it.

I'm wondering why you don't take precautions - suitable backups/disk imaging. Lesson to learn.

    2. If you wish to try to create a backup- and you should BEFORE making any changes - then try making a disk image of it.

Creating a secure backup seems to be the priority before considering how to make the disk usable.

copy anything very important to a safe storage first.

then you could attempt conversion to basic disk. There are some programs that can do non destructive conversion.

There is about 300gb used space on the dynamic volume (D in your screenshot ). I would make a *wim backup* of that partition before attempting anything else. Wim backup is file based so not only could you extract indivdual files, it could also be applied to a partition on a basic disk.

Therefore after converting the disk to basic, you could apply the wim.

It looks like you have room on the E: drive for a folder with everything from the D: drive.
If so... do that, then just delete everything off Disk 2 and create new partition(s).
