Diskpart : there are no fixed disks to show.. Factory reset gone awful

    Hi everyone,

I was asked to factory reset an Asus laptop and install a win 7 on it, while starting to install the win 7 I got stuck with the "no device drivers were found", searched for some tutorial on YouTube, found this vid:

No device drivers were found Error Install windows 11 / 10 / 7 / 8 | Fix no device driver were found - YouTube

, followed the command codes step by step on MS-DOS : ( Diskpart >>> list disk >>> select disk 0 >>>> Clean >>>> create partition primary >>>> format fs=ntfs quick) and now I completely lost the disk 0 with all system files, no hard drive showing as a boot option in the BIOS.

    Am I screwed ?

Is there a way to create or reactivate the internal HDD ??

Thank you in advance for your help

Welcome to the forum. If you boot 7 install then as part of that delete all partions and let 7 create what it need
Problem with puttin 7 on its old out of support and often no drivers in which case youe screwed

Thanks for your reply Master, I tried to create new partitions on MSDOS when booting the Windows: Diskpart>> create partition primary>>> then I get there are no disks selected… I’ve searched everywhere on YouTube and tried the windows usb installation tool drivers tutorial, also tried the f6flpy-64x drivers, no result..
seems like the laptop’s HDD has been uninstalled from the BIOS, even MSDOS doesn’t find it, am I right ?
Is there any way to get it back ?

Hello White, I’m actually not able to select any disk to format, when in Diskpart I list disk and get nothing but the usb flash with the bootable windows in it..

When you boot from a Win 7 installation drive on a new OEM computer that was built to have Win 10 or Win 11 you may find that:
    - You don't have mouse.
    - You can't see the drive.
Win 7 installation files don't have USB 3.X, NVMe and SATA drivers so you won't have mouse or even Keyboard and you may not see the drive.
The E403SA has a 128GB eMMC Flash drive. For what I know, there are no Win 7 drivers for it.

Even if you try to reinstall win 10 you may need load the Intel RST drivers during installation to be able to see the drive.

You're totally right I now created a bootable win 10 usb and am trying to fix it, I can see the drive now but it doesnt allow me to install windows 10 on it :

"Windows can't be installed on drive 0 partition 1" >>Details>>> ...Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

When I search in the BIOS menu I can't find the hard drive at all.. so is it the RST driver missing ?

Thanks again for your time !!

    Clean Install Windows 10

    Reset BIOS or load defaults.
Set Disk mode to AHCI, not RAID
Select OS mode = UEFI or Windows 10
Disable fast boot and secure boot (you can turn it on after installation)

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

If you have a UEFI BIOS, you should install as UEFI-GPT

During POST, press F12(?) to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name) if you want to install as UEFI-GPT or select USB (name) if you want to install as Legacy-MBR.
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.

Hi again and thanks for your help brother,

My BIOS is an APTIO SETUP UTILITY - American megatrends 2015, its on an Asus e403sa laptop,

all it has in the menu is : Main - Advanced - Boot - Security - Save & exit

the option for the disk mode change is nowhere to be found on it.

In Advanced I have these options :
    - Start Easy Flash
    - pointing device
    - wake on lid open

    graphics configuration
    network stack...
    usb config...

looks like the internal hard drive isnt recognized by the BIOS..

Im really lost.. Can't even proceed the way you instructed, lots of people fixed this issue so easily from youtube vids but nothing is compatible with my case..

What do you have under BOOT?
If you didn't change anything it should be good to do a clean install.

    Under boot is :

    BOOT CONFIG..
    Launch CSM. Enabled

    BOOT OPTION PRIORITIES
    boot option #1 Sandisk

HARD DRIVE BBS PRIORITIES >> boot option #1 Sandisk

    DELETE BOOT OPTION..

    Nothing more
