Battery icon not showing in Taskibar systems icos menu

Somehow the battery icon just disappeared from my desktop one day!

So I did a google search, and the most potentially useful advice was this, only it didn't work.
Fix: Battery Icon Not Showing In Windows 10 Taskbar because my device manager has only one entry under batteries, for my APC backup battery.

Within the Taskbar settings is a window to setting system icons. On my system, the Power button is simply greyed out. (No other system icons are greyed out.)

So what happened? And how do I restore the power icon button?

    Win 10 Pro 64 2H22 + plus all MS patches. (I'm a Win 10 holdout!)

The native Windows battery icon relates to batteries for laptops/tablets.

Perhaps you were using software to monitor your UPS's power status and have experienced something like this- which makes reference to 'APC':

You may find more on the APC forum mentioned there.

I found Microsoft web pages that said pretty much the same thing. Yet, when I did a clean install of Windows 10 several months ago, and then plugged in my APC backup battery, I did get a power/battery icon in my taskbar. I did nothing special to get that icon. It just appeared.

I use APC BatteryChute 3.10, which is OK except that the Check for Updates feature is broken.

Thanks for those links. I'll check them out as soon as I get a chance.
