ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX Motherboard question

This card is not described as a WiFi board, but has an M2 E key WiFi socket, dies this mean I can get a WiFi card for it ? Will it need antennaes
Also if didn't have a mobo speaker, does it use the pc or monitor speakers ? Can I still fit one

    Thanks

I also bought 3600 RAM pp partpicker, hope this is ok if I changed the mobo bios setting

Yes, any WiFi card will need antennas. On a desktop I would install a PCIe card that comes with the appropriate pair of antennas.

    1. Your motherboard supports a type 2230 WiFi/BT module. Here is the link to you motherboard manual (pdf). This info is in section 2.10 (starting page 40).

    2. Motherboards used to come with speakers, but some cheapskate decided not to include them a while back.
Amazon.com <---- will work with your motherboard.

    3. Yes, you can set the RAM to manufacturer's specs. You'll have to change the frequency, the timings and probably the voltage as well. It would help to know the make/model of the RAM you bought, as well as the CPU you bought.

We need to know the make and model of... motherboard, CPU and RAM, to check for compatibility.
As you can see... it matters which CPU you intend to use, when checking for memory compatibility...

The card come without the antennas. On a Laptop the antennas are on the side of the screen. On a desktop you have to buy the antennas and attach the cable on the card and install the antennas outside the case.

    Corsair VENGEANCE LPX DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 3600MHz CL18 Intel XMP 2.0 iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMK16GX4M2D3600C18)

    Ryzen 5600G

Seen a WiFi card kit on Amazon £52 but can't work out the speed, numbers look different than I'm used to

    - - - Updated - - -

Thought the memory was straight forward, with just one setting to enable the faster speed. Used to be a lot simpler, planning to start fitting it today not sure what bios version to install

I'd send the Corsair RAM back and get this instead... this is guaranteed compatible...

    G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory (F4-3600C16D-16GVKC) - PCPartPicker

And it's got lower timings, so it's faster.

The Corsair RAM will "probably" be OK... but I can't guarantee it.
When you 1st boot up with any RAM... it's not gonna run at manufacturer's specs.
You'll have to set them in the BIOS.
The specs for the Corsair RAM are...

ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX Motherboard question-image1.png

The settings in the BIOS will be under...
    DRAM Timing
    DRAM Frequency
    DRAM Voltage

You "may" just be able to choose: "Load XMP Setting" in the BIOS and everything will be cool.
But if the XMP setting doesn't do it... use CPU-Z (free), to help you manually set the RAM to manufacturer's specs.

For example... this is MY RAM. The RED box is the manufacturer's specs, and the BLUE box it what the RAM is actually running at. For the frequency... the 1599 (1600) times two gets me the 3200 Mhz.

ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX Motherboard question-image1.png

Left to itself... the RAM was running at the JEDEC #7 specs, even with XMP enabled in the BIOS.
I had to disable XMP and set mine manually, like in the screen shot just above.

In other words... my RAM was running at 2133Mhz rather than the 3200Mhz it should have been running at.

    There's compatible and there's compatible.
Corsair used to test their RAM on every build imaginable, but they've been slacking off.

GSkill's RAM Configurator is the best as far as I'm concerned.
Their RAM is also faster. Same frequencies but tighter (lower) timings.

Two things make RAM go fast... high frequency and low timings. You need both.
You'll notice if you look around... that if you have two sets of RAM with the same frequency, the ones with the lower timings will cost more.

The timings (short version), are how fast the RAM does the things it does. Like, how fast it can switch from doing one thing to doing some other thing.
