MCT creates a USB drive that is Legacy and UEFI boot able. To do so, the drive must be MBR.
MCT has cleaned the drive and converted the drive from GPT to MBR and created a Fat32 partition and copied the installation files to it.
I would say that the chances to get your data back aren't very good.
Thanks for the info, not what I wanted to hear but being microsoft, not surprising it will be a few long days downloading from onedrive 😢

There must be a partition between the two unallocated spaces.

list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the USB drive number - Should be 2)
select disk n (replace n by the USB drive number obtained with list disk- Should be 2)
    list part
    Exit
    Not that I can see

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
    Disk 0 Online 931 GB 0 B
    Disk 1 Online 465 GB 1024 KB *
    Disk 2 Online 4657 GB 2015 GB

    Partition ### Type Size Offset
    Partition 1 Primary 32 GB 1024 KB

I suggest you start it over.
I don't understand how this helps to recover my photos

When you selected the usb drive, you were warned that all data on it would be lost
And I expected that i.e. the 32GB partition, not a complete repartition of the drive!

On the MCT site it has a warning:
    - A blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space or blank DVD (and DVD burner) if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted.
Yes I should have expected the absurd from microsoft and for MCT to work differently from my previous experience, what was I thinking

Your data should still be there unless it has been overwritten.

Glad to hear that you have a backup and can recover your data.

It doesn't, but if you still want to use the drive as a Win 10 installation drive and a data drive, that is the way to go.
