Virtual alternative on operating the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner

Windows 10 does recognise the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner device, using the regular Epson Twain driver.
Yet, you can't use the scanner directly though.
And while most newer Windows machines have lots of overcapacity, that's where Virtual Box comes into play.
I installed Windows XP on Virtual Box, choose the scanner as available USB device, install the regular driver package for XP and I'm ready to go.
Doesn't cost any money, only some effort

Using a virtual machine with Windows XP on VirtualBox as an alternative for operating the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner on Windows 10 is a viable solution. By following these steps, you can use the scanner within the virtual environment:

Download and install VirtualBox on your Windows 10 machine.
Obtain a licensed copy of Windows XP and create a virtual machine using VirtualBox.
Within the virtual machine, install the Epson Twain driver for the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner.
Connect the scanner to your computer and make it available to the virtual machine by selecting it as a USB device in the VirtualBox settings.
Start the virtual machine and install the scanner driver package specific to Windows XP.
Once the driver is installed, you should be able to use the Epson Perfection 1250 scanner within the virtual environment.
By utilizing this method, you can leverage the compatibility of the scanner with older operating systems while still accessing it from your Windows 10 machine.
