cannot see new western digital 12 tb drive

    cannot see new western digital 12 tb drive


    I installed a new 12 tb western digital drive. i can see it in device manager but cannot see it in disk management for me to format and assign drive name
    How can i fix it?
    windows 10 ver 22H2

    i solved it by booting wtih hiren boot cd and formatting the drive to ntfs

    It means that the drive wasn't initialized. You could have done under Disk Manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc) or with Diskpart commands.

    It did not show in diskmgmt photo on first post. It shows disk1 but not disk0, unless the op hid disk0 from the window.

    Something is weird. How can it show under Device Manager and not under Disk Manager?

    I am not sure why it didnt show in diskmgmt. The op was able to fix it presumably by using some partition manager that is in hirens.
    Perhaps the previous owner of the disk had done something unusual to it.
