Keyboard keys not responding sometimes

Have a Logitech G213 bought it new less than 2 months ago, it worked just fine until recently some and not all keys sometimes do not respond when pressing lightly, if I was to press them hard they would respond no problem but sometimes a normal pressing gives no response.

Is it a problem with the keyboard itself or is there a chance it might be related to something else such as an issue with the USB ports? the reason I mention this is that I plugged a USB flash drive and the PC did not read it, so pulled it out and reinserted it and it showed (this was with another port all of which is for the motherboard so just thought I'd mention that).

I would suspect 2 potential problems from what you are saying The Keyboard itself and the USB socket.

As both devices are affected then likely to be the USB connectors, some of which maybe connected internally by plugs/sockets to/from the front/top panels, others directly to the MOBO on the IO panel.

So some logical testing and physically viewing the ports, checking cables etc should sort that out.

I use Logitech keyboards, the cheap membrane types, and several Mice wired/Bluetooth, no problems with those.

Then thing is most of they keys work just fine, it's just a few keys that are having this issue, for example while gaming I'm using W A S D non stop, W and S work perfect but A and D have this issue, then there's other keys such as X and 6 which i rarely use also have this problem.

The keyboard is plugged into the blue sockets for the motherboard, so I'm going to try are use the black sockets and see if it's the same issue.

Being that you are using a generic membrane style keyboard there is not much to go wrong with these and they are generally a really safe option in terms of reliability.

You could open it up and check the circuit layer and clean it basically it will just be a PCB that has segregated banks of circuit traces that you can clean. You should also pull the key cap and inspect the membrane for the trouble keys make sure that they look like they are contacting the PCB as intended by actuating the membrane with the key cap off.

Not much to go wrong if you have opened your computer you can open a keyboard like this.

The USB maybe as it sounds like its intermittent i guess try the Keyboard on another PC if you can and see if the same result occurs

Otherwise i would get it replaced if it has warranty.

Another thing to try would be search a keyboard tester website and test your keys. Membrane keyboards bank keys onto circuits because it cuts production costs so you can only press a few keys at a time before it locks out more keys being pressed simultaneously depending on how the banks are made its different across models.

WASD should be able to be pressed with multiple keys at the same time because they know its used in games. You can kind of tell how your keyboard is banked by using something like this too.

I've tried it outside of gaming, actually loaded Windows into advanced options on startup and went into diskpart command and while doing a clean all when finished entered "exit" and the X didn't respond from the first time.

Also tested it on Notepad by pressing D X only and it's the same issue.

No warranty I'm afraid.

If it really doesn't have any warranty, open it and clean the the contacts on the plastic film.

Only a three day warranty (third world warranty).
