USB driver can not be installed

    Hello,

I've an old DELL desktop computer (Precision WorkStation T5500 / Serial number : 2DZXM4J) with Windows 10 Professionnel.

I had some trouble with the USB keyboard, so I uninstalled the USB drivers thinking that it will put the correct driver back in. But it got worse, it can't find the right drivers, and I can't use the keyboard or the mouse.

I receive a similar message to this (in french): "The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry."

I installed a DELL and INTEL assistant, but neither solved the problem.

These two USB controller seem to be well installed :

    - Intel ICH10 Family USB Universal Host Controller 3A3A and 3A3C

    But the following once are not: 3A38, 3A35, 3A37, 3A34, 3A39, 3A36

Can you help me where can I fint the good drivers? Thank you in advance!

You said you don't have USB so you have no mouse and keyboard. Is it correct?

    Every hardware has an ID.
If do have a mouse, lets find the USB ID:
    - Open device manager
    - right click on the device - Properties
    - On the Details tab select hardware ID
    - Select first line, right click, Copy
    - Paste the ID here

1 If you did not choose the option to uninstall drivers when you uninstalled the device then the drivers are still on your computer.
    2 A reboot should force hardware re-detection.
3 Please post a screenshot of Device manager annotated to show exactly what you uninstalled.
4 You probably now have a section in Device manager called Other devices, a euphemism for No driver found. You can still retrieve HardwareIDs for them. my ditty - search for drivers by HardwareID - TenForums
5 I assume you do not have a system image to fall back on.
6 I assume you do not have a driver backup to fall back on - Backup and Restore Device Drivers - TenForumsTutorials
7 I'm surprised that Windows update is not suggesting appropriate drivers for you.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Thank you for your two answers. In the meantime I have reinstalled the OS. If the problem reappears, I will try what you suggest!

You could have done a Repair install . It keeps your programs and data.
