Purchased a BEYIMEI PCI-E 1X to USB 3.2 Gen1 5Gbps 2 Ports half height card which came with a 3.5" driver CD, but I no longer have a player. Does anyone know where a driver can be downloaded?
This is a USB card, right? In all likelihood, a driver will not be needed. It is probably included in Windows. Did you try simply plugging it in to see if Windows detects it?
Agree because I considered an 80$+ Startech card but decided to explore a cheaper option. I bought this card on the premise that it will be a 50%-50% possibility of success. When I opened the package and saw the 3.5" CD for the driver, the heart sank further, reėnforcing my suspicions. Nevertheless, I soldiered on. Initially, the USB3 key was recognized but then, this ended as well.
@hsehestedt, please don't give advice without specific experience. Windows didn't recognize it and didn't know it existed. Only then I posted.
I do have EXTENSIVE experience in this area. There are literally hundreds of devices, yes, that includes USB cards, that don't require the user to install additional drivers. Please also excuse the fact that my crystal ball is in the shop for repairs. I was not able to divine out of thin air that you had already tried to use the card in the machine. At no point did you say that you ever even tried the card and that it did not work.
Rather than be a condescending jerk, maybe next time you could actually post what you tried so that we don't have to waste your precious time telling you to try things that you already did.

However, you failed to take into account thing: There are a lot of people not as well versed in this sort of thing as you. Many would never have tried to install the card just to see if it would work. I just wanted to start simple, not realizing that you had already tried it.
BTW, in the meantime I've been up to the BEYIMEI web site. No mention of the USB card anywhere. It's also such a poor web site that they have a generic copyright on the bottom of the main page. They could not even be bothered to put their name on it.
One other thought: When the card is plugged in, I assume you are getting bangs in Device Manager. In Device Manager, you could get the device ID and we could try to locate a driver based upon the ID. I've gotten lucky finding drivers for obscure hardware like that. If you need more info on that, do let me know.
You work backwards from the chipset used. Identify what chipset(s) is on the Card and find similar Cards using the same chipset you will certainly locate a driver.
Tedious job with these cheap cards.
Normally from main manufacturers the driver is within Windows or it is auto-downloaded from Windows updates or whatever.
Even if you have an Optical Drive some will not take the smaller 3.5" mini discs. Usually the driver is very old I would guess at Windows 7 or even earlier.
Same issue on very new computer. Nothing in Device manager. Tried on PCI 1x and PCI 16x.
I think some people have may this backwards. The cards I have seen like that are not USB. They plug into a PCIe X1 slot and give the computer 2 USB 3.0 ports. There are several variations of the card. Here is one of them
