OK, I thought that a restore point would change the major build as well.

Anyway, any idea on how to force an update? Or maybe uninstall/reinstall a driver from advanced startup command prompt?

Consider - by way of partial explanation- a restore point captures a range of file types, drivers, registry.

E.g. the registry changes a lot between major builds.

Mixing part of the registry from one build with another would create a right mess.

Major build reversion (supported by default within 10 days after upgrade is almost as big a task as an upgrade, and relies on large files (Windows.old). Different mechanism entirely. This is why there are no restore points after a major upgrade.

As to upgrade possibilities, under normal circumstances the basic options are:
    - the MS upgrade assistant (Google/tutorial)
    - download and iso file and use that (which you've probably done).

It is not possible to 'force' an upgrade where the upgrading procedure fails. That requires experienced problem solving, and may prove arduous and unproductive.
You can reduce the likelihood of failure by choosing NOT to accept updates as part of the upgrade.

Upgrading alone will not resolve the Insider build issue.

You could check to see what it says here: (Settings, About) out of interest.

How would I get there from command prompt on advanced startup?

No, I did not upgraded or tried to do it using ISO.

The way I see it, the most obvious solution would be to force a reinstall of the correct chipset driver. I should be able to copy the correct file from USB under advanced startup command prompt. The question is how to trigger the installation upon unattended normal startup of Windows?

You can only upgrade if you can log in normally.

Perhaps I didn't explained it very clear: the computer boots without any problem all the way to the desktop, the problem is that once it starts booting I have no input whatsoever. (all USB is disabled).
So if I manage from advanced startup command prompt to set a startup command (to use the chipset driver file or to start an update etc) I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I'm not sure I use the correct language here but hopefully the idea is pretty clear.

    Boot from Kyri tools.
I strongly suggest you create a drive image file, so you can revert back in case things go wrong.
Do you have Windows.old folder? In this folder you have all the previous Windows files.

It only has USB if it boots to advanced mode (command prompt etc).
    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Advanced options

Click Go back to the previous version of Windows

Nope, it's not there. Booted with Kyhi's and checked.

If you succeed on the upgrade to 22h2 you should have the Windows.old folder.
Windows.old my be hidden as it may have system or hidden attributes.
