    Radeon HD 5570 drivers fail to install

    In an old PC I built some time back, I swapped out an old Nvidia card for an equally old AMD Radeon HD 5570 to take advantage of it's HDMI input. But W10 consistently fails to install the AMD drivers, always leaving me with generic 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' drivers that don't let me fit the whole desktop to the dimensions of the monitor.

    There are 2 sets of AMD drivers for the Windows 10 32 bit OS here:
    https://www.amd.com/en/support/graph...radeon-hd-5570

    * Catalyst Software Suite 7/29/2015
    * Radeon Software Crimson Edition Beta 3/1/2016

    At one point there were resolution options up to 1920 x 1080. But I'm now left with only 6 options from 800 x 600 to 1400 x 1050 where 1024 x 768 is the only option that's close.

    How can I get Windows to accept AMD's drivers?

    The Windows version is: 22H2 (OS build 19045.2604)

    Thanks for any feedback on this.

    If you're sure you have 32 bit Windows, then download the legacy drivers you linked, and save them to the desktop.
    Then do this...

    DDU Instructions - AMD
    1. Get this program, here: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) | Wagnardsoft ...get the latest version, and save it to your desktop.
    2. Get your vid card driver here, use the Manual Search: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download ...save this to your desktop.
    Unhook the internet completely.
    3. Reboot into Safe Mode and run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) choose the "Highly Recommend Option", and just do what it tells you.
    4. After it's done, reboot to normal mode, then just double click the AMD driver to install. If it want's to reboot, let it.
    Rehook the internet.

    Hey @Ghot. That's the procedure I've gone through several times with no success. But right after I posted this, I noticed a notification on that old system from Windows Update that had the Radeon drivers ready to install. After running that WU, AMD drivers now appear in Device Manger and the desktop is fitting the monitor properly. Thanks for your feedback on this though. Wish I could explain all this, but these days I'm happy when things end up working!
