    please recommend a keyboard

I've had had a great Keytronics keyboard for the past 15 years that just bit the dust. Non-repairable. Looks like the old IBM "M" model.

It looks like keyboards of that quality are rare nowdays. Can someone please recommend a full size keyboard (with number pad) that is of pretty good quality. No gaming, just everyday web browser use, MS Word, Excel, etc.

I have a soft spot for the Logitech G815 Linear model. It's backlit, has a number pad, and five programmable keys which are really handy, has great mechanical switches and feels wonderful to type on. Mechanical keyboards are a bit noisy, but I suspect that you are already used to that. They come in three styles: Tactile, Linear, and Clicky. Linear is the quietest.

All in all, it's a great keyboard and I am extremely happy with mine. They cost about $279.00 USD by the way.

This is what they look like:

K800 Wireless Illuminated. The G815 is twice as expensive, can't easily be picked up by using only one hand like shown in my pics below (you'll just end up having accidental keypresses if you try), has an annoying wire that makes me feel like a dog on a leash, and some crackhead replaced the Fn key with disco lights so it's Unlogitech.

Basically there are two keyboard types: membrane and mechanical.
If you want a first grade keyboard, choose a mechanical rather than a membrane keyboard.

I love my 25 years Chicony mechanical keyboard. It was expensive (US$ 70), but it is still working. Every year I disassemble it and wash the case and keys.

Try DASKeyboard brand. I have one with "clicky" keys for my desktop and love it. My wife hates the keyboard sound so I had to get a membrane keyboard for when she is in the same room.

+1 for the Logitech K800. I use this one & I am happy with it.
Mine has replaceable rechargeable batteries but newer versions don’t have the ability to replace the batteries.

I have Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 on my KVM and test bench, has simple audio controls. Spilled coffee in one couple days ago, used canned air to blow out most liquid and let stand on one end. Tried it today and still works but a few keys felt like they were sticking when I pressed the but quickly smoothed out. Advertisement says they are moisture resistant.

Found these and ordered 2 for backups.
    Sorry! Something went wrong!

Tell me about it, Logitech mouse and keyboard lasted for 12 years, but I have drowned 3 keyboards in the past 5 years simply by cleaning them. I remember when even the cheapest HP keyboards were spill proof.

Forget the quality, just get what you want. I like full size, but small/compact, so it does not take much space. I had Logitech K340/K360, but because wireless is too vulnerable lately, I have gone for a cable. I also love silence, so prefer low profile keys, my latest favorite is HP Wired Desktop 320K, , but I will go for an illuminated next time.
