Win10 21H2 taskbar USB icon shows nothing when flash connected

This past week, my wife complained that where she once was able to 'eject' a connected USB flash by 'right-clicking' the USB icon in the taskbar and elect to eject a connected flash drive, this seems no longer the case. I've tried for about four days now to address this, following a NUMBER of suggestions from Microsoft Forums, Ten Forums, Microsoft Community (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...e-68ddf1908b2b) and a number of other sites that have helped in the past with similar issues, but all suggestions seem ineffective.
Here are the indications we see on her PC:
When she connects any USB flash drive or other device to any of her six USB ports, she hears the notification and the USB icon appears in the taskbar, and the drive or device appears in Windows Explorer (IE: her cell phone), and sometimes she even gets the "Choose what you want to do with this (device) ..." appears (whatever the correct terminology from this pop-up), so the flash or other device is apparently being properly detected, but when she 'right-clicks' on the USB icon, no flash drive or other device appears when attempting to eject that device.
In troubleshooting this, I've looked at notifications in taskbar settings, verified notifications are enabled and working... but, in truth I forget just how many I have attempted, so in this post, I've attached three images I've 'Snipped' from both her PC and mine (since mine is working as it should) to help with the indications she experiences. One thing of note: in "Taskbar Settings - Select which icons appear in the taskbar", "Windows Explorer - Safely Remove Hardware and Eject" DOES appear among that list of notification switches and yet nothing is listed when 'right-clicking' the USB icon.
NOTE: The two images that show a 'properly operating' notification were 'snipped' from MY PC since this IS operational on my computer
Also... While I was creating this post, I've continued looking for other suggestions, one of which was to UN-intstall and re-install her display drivers. so I will do that and see if this helps, but "in the meantime" I'm going to post this to see if anyone can suggest any other options

    Hi, preamble:
    - by default now USB devices are set for quick removal - i.e. no need to eject.

Is your wife using Win 10 or 11?
Windows 11 employs the Quick removal policy for all USB devices by default. This allows you to unplug your USB devices without having to eject them first. Hence, Windows may not show the Eject option as it’s already safe to unplug your drive.
(I have Win 10 but still have the Eject option with Quick Removal in force).

Just to check- is there a context menu option 'Eject' on rt clicking a USB drive?

Please post your wife's equivalent of

whilst she has a properly detected & working USB device connected.

    All the best,
