    WinZip Driver Updater

I want to check if all my drivers are up-to-date. Doing this manually is a lot of work as I would have to go to each manufacturer and check for updates (Windows, as far as I know doesn't know about all those manufacturer drivers). Several reputable websites suggest WinZip Driver Updater. However, there are also many posts that say WinZip Driver Updater is fake, does nothing, even is a trojan. I suspect that there is some malware out there that poses as WinZip Driver Updater but that the real tool from WinZip Driver Updater Software Download from WinZip is legit and useful. Any input is appreciated.

As background, my computer keeps on rebooting every few days (not a constant interval). The event viewer gives me the two errors below. I suspect an issue with a driver or hardware.

    1) Event 6008, "The previous system shutdown at [...] was unexpected."
    2) Event 41, task category (61), "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Using 3rd party driver updater tools regularly and routinely has been condemned in repeated threads on this site. I'm not going to repeat why.

Windows takes care of these for you in most cases; exceptions might be with an old PC not supported by the manufacturer for Win 10.

The only case in which I suggest using one is where a valid and appropriate driver cannot be found by normal means - e.g. after upgrading an old PC to Win 10.

Start by checking your hardware thoroughly.
Guidance has been given many times.

History (so often not given by posters):
    - What happened just before this started happening?
(e.g. change of hardware, softare upgrade or installation- what? some other event- what? etc)

    1. How old is your PC?
    2. Make & model?
    3. Have you upgraded the RAM and if so is it all definitely compatible?
    4. Have you run checks on
    - your disk(s) (e.g. with Hard Disk Sentinel , the more basic Crystal Diskinfo (free)?)
    - your RAM
    5. Are you overclocking?

By way of a trial, you can create and boot your PC from a live boot disk, and leave it running, and if it crashes you know it's nothing to do with your installed O/S.

In a number of cases people have found a problem with their PSU - even their UPS.

I am not planning to use a driver updater tool on a regular basis but just to troubleshoot my particular problem of random reboots. Supposedly WinZip Driver Updater does not automatically install drivers. If true, I get an overview of what drivers are not up-to-date and then I can go to the manufacturer (or Windows) to further investigate. So my question is more about if WinZip Driver Updater is a safe tool to check for outdated drivers.

As for the issue, I am not sure how old the PC is but it's an i-9700K with 32GB. Nothing is overclocked. I did run Crystal Diskinfo before and just checked again. All drives show Good with the system drive showing "Good 81%". It's an Intel SSD 2TB at a somewhat warm but I think acceptable 43C. No Critical Warning. Unfortunately, I didn't pay enough attention when this started happening. Initially I thought Windows was just installing updated and rebooted. I haven't really made any changes to the system lately.

And thank you indeed for your reply.

You cannot rely on a 3rd party driver updater tool to chjeck if your drivers are up to date. Let's dismiss that discussion.

Await the results of hardware checks.
