    You can try
    chkdsk X: /scan
    where X is the drive letter of interest.

    This should not require the volume to be dismounted, and only scans.

    Also suggest you try reformatting one drive as a test case.
    Tried it still getting the same error as above

Some drives showing as removable

Yesterday I went from Windows 7 to windows 10 with a clean install. My system based on an ASUS P9x79Pro motherboard has 4 internal disk drives. The first two, a 500GB SSD for the system and a 2TB spinning disk, are connected to Intel SATA 6G...
Clean install of W10 and many updates are showing as 'Requiring a restart to finish installing'. Despite several restarts and full shut downs this situation remains. Windows update itself says it is up to date.
