    W10 and Reflect don't see the drive to install...

    This one throws me for a loop...

    I've got/built a new PC with 4x4 m.2 drives. The BIOS sees the drives:

    W10 and Reflect don't see the drive to install...-gigabyte.jpg

    Neither Windows 10 installation media on USB (22/H2), nor Macrium Reflect see the M.2 drives, nor do they see the network port.

    The BIOS version is the latest, but that does not seem to matter. It did take some time to make the BIOS to see the M.2 drives, but I am at lost how to add the chipset drivers for either W10 installation media or to Reflect. All of the exe files want to install file to my current system, but that's not what I need.

    Any help would be appreciated...

    TIA

    99% chance you need Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) drivers.

    Yeah - you would think by now these were included in the standard MS iso.

    @Cr00zng - download IRST drivers from Intel website (you can download from a mobile phone or another PC) and copy it to windows installation usb drive.

    Then start installation again and when you get to main installation screen, one of options is to add a driver - select that and navigate to driver on usb drive and then you should be ok.

    Thank guys....

    Yeah, you'd think MS would include the drivers by now in the latest version of W10 and 11...

    The issue is that all of the IRST drivers come in exe format, not to mention that W10 probably needs motherboard driver as well,

    I am stumped how to get the new system going. Maybe I'll just add one my W10 install on an SSD to the new system, after installing the latest IRST drivers.

    I've been building my own PCs, for over 20+ years, but never struck out like this.

    You need these to be integrated into boot.wim image 2.
    https://download.gigabyte.com/FileLi...24eab0a296e9ad

    Or you can f6 them on the fly.

    It is quite easy. Unzip the above file.

    Mount boot.wim with dism++ ( select image 2)

    dism++direct-download

    after it has mounted ( only takes a few seconds to mount ) click "open session"

    then click Drivers in the left pane.

    Click ADD and browse to the IRST drivers folder you have just unzipped and dism++ will integrate them.

    then click save image ( it will ask what type of save - choose direct save)

    then unmount image.

    takes just a couple of minutes to do it.

    [You only need the f6 drivers inside the NON-VMD and VMD folders but it shouldnt do any harm to put the rest in ]

    You can do the same to your reflect boot.wim. There is only one image in that.

    Actually there are normally two and you have to select index 2.

    They are available in zip format and can be extracted to a folder on the Windows 10 Installation USB flash drive so that you can use them during Windows setup.

    However many there are, select the bootable image.

    I have only ever seen one image in the reflect boot.wim.

    the standard ms boot.wim in the sources folder has 2.
