Under "Printing Preferences" - "Microsoft IPP Class Driver Advanced Options" I do have one for "Paper Size" that I can set to "A4". In fact, Windows even seems to respect it. Meanwhile I have seen that another Ubuntu computer addressing the print server addresses it as "driverless", so I am guessing that CUPS is somehow unable to correctly use the driver I installed on the print server. I have installed the same driver as a native driver on the aforementioned Ubuntu system, which is able to use it as I would expect, so my next step will be to compare the configuration of that Ubuntu system with that of the print server. Obviously, that is no longer a topic for this forum ;-)
