Recommend PCIe M2 SSD for Dell Laptop

    With a sata ssd in the m.2 slot I never had this situation so I don't know.
    It should be ok according to your manual and the dell forum link of SIW1.
    I installed the new Drive which was found after changing the BIOS setting from RAID to AHCI. Oddly the old drive wasn't found unless that was set to RAID. Recovered from the Reflect image. Initially it wouldn't boot but after some fiddling about all works fine. Never had that issue before with a Reflect recovery.

    It's good, it finally works. It must be that when a m.2 sata ssd is in the m.2 slot hwinfo doesn't detect it as a pci express. It's good to know. It's a nvme 4.0 x4 your friend is ready for the future.
