So it's from a computer store?
    Do you live near there?

They went out of business. There is a computer store close by that will reinstall Windows for $99.00 CAD. I don't mind paying if that is the best option at this point.

If that is the choice I am going to try to reinstall Windows 10 one more time. Why not right?

Yes, but I want you to use the MCT - Media Creation tool.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

Format the old USB Flash drive first. Backup any old data onto another flash drive.

Just leave in the Keyboard and mouse.

    OK?

I did not understand that. Format the Windows Installation USB? It's a little chintzy crappy looking thing?

Do you have a new USB flash drive?
Anything over 8 GB will do.

    Fine, do that.

Use the MCT to create a new boot drive with Windows 10 Home, x64.
Go with the default settings and when complete and tested, check with the Seagate for proper function.

Post back and advise on any issues, OK?

Note you must select the USB drive as the default boot device for the install.
Pulse the F9 (or F12) key for Device Select - your USB boot drive should be detected,

The USB drive is NTFS. Is that OK?

    Thanks!

Format for exFat - I think that the MCT will do it but quick format manually.

    OK?

Do you have any final questions, before I run?

    Hopefully, all should be OK.

Any real problems, let the store do it and load with a legitimate copy of Windows 10 x64 Pro, not Home.
Remember, test with your HDD's before you pay.

    Cheers.

P.S. Buy an inexpensive Wired Mouse and Keyboard for troubleshooting - good to have.

OK I will change it to EXFAT. Thank you for all the time you spent helping me today . It was very kind of you and I appreciate all the help you have generously provided. I wish this did not happen but I feel good knowing that I can take the PC in to the shop if all else fails.

One last thing is that you mentioned to have them install Pro. That could be a bit out of my budget if I have to buy it new.

    Thanks!!!
