    Toshiba Satellite Ram Upgrade

    Toshiba Satellite P750-113 (PSAY3A-02T001)

    Specifications

    Notebook: Toshiba Satellite P750-113
    Processor: Intel Core i5 2410M
Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M

i did it once before but have forgotten how to now,

how do i assess how much RAM my CPU can handle, i have found differing figures. the manual and Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades for Satellite P750-113 state 8GB maximum but have found a site that declares it is good for 16GB RAM RAM Upgrades | Satellite P750 P-Series - max up to 16GB max up to 16GB and here Intel Core i5-2410M - review. CPU Benchmark & Specs | Hitesti

pros and cons for 1x16GB or 2x8GB im thinking power draw as in 1=1.5V or 2x1.5V=3V

i would like to go as big as i can obviously but dont want to get stuck with a RAM i cant use.

Use a Ram selector e.g. this is very close to your model:

    Note this comment:
Mr Memory recommends you install modules in pairs for Dual-channel performance - View Dual-channel Memory Video.

yeah i've actually stumbled across that site before when i was doing upgrades to my main computer...

but thats where i'm unsure, this site says 8GB max but it differs from the other 2 sites i found stating good for 16GB.

wasnt sure if there was a formula that could be used to equate the actual acceptable maximum hence posting all the CPU-Z data.

this is what the CPU is good for (apparently)

Intel Core i5-2410M processor review - Benchmark and Specs

These are memory standards supported by CPUs. The higher such standards, the better a CPU’s performance is.
    Memory type: DDR3-1066 DDR3-1333
    Max. Memory: 16 GB
    Memory channels: 2
    ECC: No
    PCIe version: 2
    PCIe lanes: 16

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. As stated. use an accurate site guide to find compatible RAM
    2. Technical approach: e.g. try

How to Find the Maximum RAM Capacity of Your Computer

    3. I've told you the answer about
    1x16GB or 2x8GB

    - and the nominal performance benefit of dual channel- assuming your laptop supports that of course.

yep got that, it does have at least 2 slots so thats the way i'll go for that measure.

the cmd prompt link you supplied would be for W10, the actual machine in question is W7 but i would have thought that irrelevant as far as hardware goes. would this cmd work for W7. ??

Dual Channel is advisable specially when using built-in video. Net gain is about 10% give or take.

Why don't you ask a Toshiba community support group specialising in your product?

And find a RAM matching site... some let you ask questions if you are in continuing doubt.

    Good luck!
