How do I reconnect com ports.

I have been trying to setup my two lasers and having no luck. I opened up Device Manger and the main screen shows no Com Ports. But if I click on View-Show Hidden Devices two ports show. However, both are grayed out. Clicking on them brings a screen saying they are not connected to the computer and I need to reconnect them. How do I do that??

Have you installed the drivers and software for the devices? Com ports are physical and Virtual Serial device ports.

Is that the software required by the device mfg for the lasers to work or something that you are trying to use? Again, device ports can be Physical or Virtual and when a driver installs, it will assign the device in the proper way to a proper port.

    Hi,

Remove the device from your computer and connect it back, if it does not come online remove it again. Delete all drivers from device manager and plug it back in.

If the device does not trigger detection try another USB port, then another computer. If the device is still not detected and configurable, I would tend to think it's defective.

I see you have 2 different controller one is com3 and the other is com4... Is that configuration correct ?

The software is needed to run the lasers and the lasers need to be on a assigned Serial Com Port. The software program that I really need to use is LightBurn. LaserGRBL is a good program but not as nice as LightBurn.

Those are USB to Serial COM Ports.... So it would appear you would need to connect the serial adapter to the USB port in order to use the Laser...

Yes correct, it is because those are the only serial com ports that I can see. I also had to install a driver which is called CH341SER.INF. I confirmed that it is installed by doing a search on my laptop.

It would really help others if you posted the mfg and model information on those lasers.
