How much are 10TB SSDs these days?
It would be wonderful if this great technology was made more affordable.
Need more chip fabrication plants. Also the technology is newer, unlike HDD's.

It's all in jest, you know.
I use them too. Great for archival purposes.

1TB SSDs were prohibitively expensive just a few years ago. The chips get denser and the price gets lower every year, but the spinners keep up the pace too. A 10 or 16TB spinner was sci-fi just a few years ago too.

But magnetic tech is running up against some serious limitations, and barring a 10 platter unit that is 3 inches tall, I'm concerned that more and more of these ultra large spinners will be SMR by default.

That's why my "server" PC has 6 spinners in it. A place to use all my old WD blacks. Good thing I got the big power supply way back when!
