    A paper feed problem

This is in a HP laser jet P1006 printer. The P1006 printer is a USB cable connection only to my Gateway laptop, OS Win 10 Pro 64bit.
I made a move from 1 apt to an other in the same complex. The P1006 printer USB cable connection to my Gateway laptop was/still is working just fine at the old apt and in the new apt. The laptop sees the printer. The problem is that there wasn't any problems at the old apt. Now there is a paper feed problem. the roller on the right side was not pulling the paper in right. Now the paper is pulling in evenly. But now the paper gets pulled in about an inch or 2 then the paper stops feeding in and then the paper jam light starts flashing. I have pulled the toner cartage out and looked at the rollers, they are clean. The toner cartridge looks ok. Up until the move the printer worked fine. I have looked at the printer as much as I can without taking the hole top cover and sides off. I can pull the cover if need be, I have the tools to do it. I would like to get the B/W laser jet working again. It saves ink in the ink jet printer. Most of my printing is in B/W.

I can only guess but it sounds to me like a physical problem such as a roller being misaligned.
If HP provide a service manual for your printer model then perhaps you could check through the procedure they suggest for replacing rollers to see if there is anything out of place.

I also think you could usefully ask your question in the HP user forum [there is a link to it in the HP support webpages].

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Denis, that's what I am thinking. The movers where a bit ruff with the box that had the printers in it. I will check with HP for a service manual. Thanks for the input. I will let you know the outcome.
