MS Word and Adobe report no printers installed

I wanted to print a .pdf document in Adobe Reader and it reported no printers installed.
I converted it to a Word document and Word also said the same thing.
Maybe I'm in the Twilight Zone.
I am able to print from everywhere else.
    Why is this happening?

    Hi.

Do you have a connected printer?
What type and method of connection?

Look under Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.

    Go from there.

    73's...

WiFi connection to printer and set as default.
I can print from everywhere except MS Word and Adobe pdf reader.
The doccument I was trying to print was downloaded from a website as a PDF which did not print.
I did create a shopping list for Walmart that did print.
Maybe it has something to do with that PDF I downloaded.

    Hi Grant -

Create a simple Word Document and attempt to print it.
Find another small PDF file and do the same.

    Post back and advise.

    Thanks.

I created a new word doccument and printed ok.
Found one that was downloaded and tried to print. The print button was greyed out and below said no printer found.
This also happens to pdf's I downloaded.
I have no problem printing all other stuff.

    @N7AS -

How are you viewing and printing these PDF's?

    Download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
Be sure to unclick all check marks in the boxes before install!

Make it the Default Reader for all PDF files.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Download | Free PDF viewer for Windows, Mac OS, Android

Then load and print a PDF file in Adobe Reader.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
It is my default PDF reader.
I have used it for many years.

    Hi.

Might I ask you to cleanly uninstall it and reinstall using the link I provided above?
Have you updated or reloaded your printer drivers recently?

    Thanks.

OK, I will do that. But how about MS Word?

If you go into Control Panel and click either Microsoft Office or just Microsoft Word you will see a "Change" section.
Just run the Quick Repair and see if it corrects the issue. If not, do an Online Repair and check again.

    Hope this helps.
