    USB connection heard from PC

Why is it when I plug a USB device to charge into a USB port not connected to my PC that I hear the USB connection from my PC? It's just a USB charger.

Put the charger far away from the PC and plug the device into the charger. Will you still hear the connection?

Some PCs, mostly new-ish ones can sense load in USB port and can pass it to windows. In some PCs, some ports may be dedicated to charging and even keep power on when PC is not running. USB port sensing is also handy for PC to sense load and warn if overloaded.

This happens even when I charge my hearing aids from a charger that is NOT connected to my PC. It just plugs into a USB port on a power strip.

Is the PC's PSU connected to the same strip?

    NO
MY PC is plugged into a backup UPS. BTW we have Solar and a TESLA Powerwall that backs up the whole house. That thing cost over $7000.

I get the connect sounds from dedicated USB chargers as well connected to another strip.
