    Sure thing:

I searched for the HD by name instead of by serial/model number and I was able to find a different set of drivers in .inf format. I then loaded those drivers onto a USB stick and windows setup recognized them as compatible with my hardware.

It was MaloK's reply that made me focus more intently on finding the drivers. I thought my drive wipe had made the HD unrecognizable by windows.

I'm sorry, I don't remember websites or anything like that. I tried so many different sites and possible solutions that my head was pretty scrambled by that time.

This HP Victus 16 is a sweet machine. Solved all of my screen resolution woes....and more!

I also ran some debloating scripts from GitHub and got rid of all the W10 junk.

    Thanks again for the replies.
    Thx.

There were 5 computer results on the HP website after entering HP Victus 016.

Please enter the serial number or sku to identify the computer with its drivers and post a URL into this thread.

The drivers displayed on the HP website were not able to be used?

They did not display results using inf for comparison?

Had you encountered this problem at an earlier time?

How come this problem rarely occurs during clean installs?

How were you able to identify the problem(s) in this thread?
1- This is not a problem, While it occurs very rarely with Windows 10 Setup, it is still a possibility that the installer could be missing required Storage drivers. That is why backing up Drivers from the current installation before wiping is always a good move.

2- This always occurs during Clean installs. But Since Windows 10 Installer has "nearly" all storage drivers incorporated, it's rare to encounter a machine that would need OEM Drivers disk to successfully install. If you need to install drivers at windows setup you will need them too for repairs and off-line interventions.

3- G Parted had no problem finding and partitioning the disk multiple times. And there's only 2 things that can make a Disk drive unavailable to Windows Setup... 1-defective device 2-missing driver. Since the machine is completely new and G Parted loaded the disk properly. I went for the missing driver.

It does not happen often but it's like in the old days when you had to load the PIIX4 IDE drivers to install NT4 on a EIDE Disk.
