Hello. I am going to try the registry hack too. W10 forces v30.x of AMD drivers for my RX550 card. I prefer the 20.x version.
I just did it. It's actually very simple. (The tutorial for the registry hack was a bit confusing to read and follow.)
@Ghot did a great job, upstream of this thread, of clarifying it. One thing to note: ensure you use the second / as described in the tutorial. Also shown on page 3 of the tutorial, in the following screenshot:

Another angle on this is download and install Winaero Tweaker and perform the block from that instead of or in addition to the above method.

The reason I suggest this is that there are frequent instances of Microsoft undoing driver update blocks taking you back to square one. They are notorious for this undoing of user registry hacks. An example of this was cited by a very annoyed member of this forum was posted somewhere only recently I recall, also with regard to his graphic card driver. It caused him no end of problems.

So, by setting the block in Winaero Tweaker, that 3rd Party software setting will keep anything that Microsoft tries to undo going forward well in check. A little tip worth considering.

That's what I use. Then if MS turns driver updates back on... it easy to block them again.
It doesn't get much easier than that...

I have simply used Windows Update MiniTool to hide all unwanted drivers. So far, so good.

I didn't know about that one but like what I see as you can be very specific and not only have the 'complete block' option that Winaero Tweaker offers. Very useful indeed.

Thank you for posting that information here.

    Windows Update MiniTool 18.01.2022

Here is the link for the Windows Update MiniTool 18.01.2022 (right up-to-date) that @Matthew Wai kindly let us know about in his post #17 above.

It looks good and I have just downloaded it to try it out for myself.

EDIT: Correct misspelling of Matthew Wai (was spelt with only one 't' instead of two, incorrectly calling another member.
