    Bluetooth receiver not recognized anymore (Code 45) in Windows 10 Pro

    I have a Intel NUC6i7KYK running Windows 10. Until a few days ago, Bluetooth was working fine. All of a sudden, all Bluetooth options have disappeared in Windows and I cannot connect any Bluetooth devices.

    I have followed the advice in this thread:
    FIX: Hardware device is not connected (Code 45) error
    and others, too. In particular, I have done this:

    1) DISM scan (DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth)

    2) updating Bluetooth drivers via Device Manager (in the Device Manager, Bluetooth is hidden but can me unhidden manually). Also downloaded most recent driver from Intel website and installed manually.

    3) Setting Startup Type for all Bluetooth-related jobs (incl. Bluetooth Support Service) in "Services" to "Automatic", or "Manual", and restarting the jobs

    4) Repaired the registry (sfc /scannow)

    5) Uninstalled the Bluetooth device in Device Manager - after reboot it was simply missing and could be found again until ...

    6) Reverted Windows to a restore point from 12 days ago (oldest one available) when Bluetooth was still working. The uninstalled Bluetooth device (#5 above) showed up in Device Manager (hidden) but still doesn't work

    I've now reached the end of the flagpole and don't know what to do anymore. Perhaps it's actually a hardware failure? If so, can the bluetooth receiver easily be exchanged? It seems that it's part of the WiFi adapter (WiFi is working flawlessly, by the way) - can I swap this out? What part would I need to order?

    @yoellax -

    Do you have any Wi-Fi connectivity?
    If so, please download and run this:

    Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

    Post back with your results.

    Thanks.

    I was gone for a few days, and when I came back, the Bluetooth was working again, without me doing ANYTHING. So strange!!!

    Creepy. I didn't read the suggested post but coincidentally took the exact same steps with the exact same results. I'm now in the "waiting for it to fix itself" stage. So weird.
