AMD Chipset Driver 3.10.22.706 Won't Install

Yep, so tried a few times and AMD Chipset Driver 3.10.22.706 won't install (System One specs). I'm not the only one. I have already attempted to update Armoury Crate and everything else in there, and of course DISM commands (in the slim to none chance it matters, I'm using a batch file with Admin elevation for that these days). Nope, admittedly not done SFC yet...

What's the reasonable next attempt I should do here? (I am not willing to Clean Install over this; not right now. What I see being suggested elsewhere).

Interesting aside, my mom's B450-F Gaming II / AMD R5 2600 installed this just fine (also Win 10, 21H1).

Any help/advice, as ever, appreciated. (I should mention this is incident 1 for me on this sort of issue.)

Edit: Again on the slim to none chance this is relevant, I've decided to give BIOS 4021 a miss; reported reboots in idle; alleged CPU C-state disabled in BIOS workaround but I'd rather not gamble on that.

It seems we're only up to v3.10.08.506. That may be the problem?

I do see v3.10.22.706 at my motherboard's website with a note...

    NOTICE:
Due to the different structure for drivers, suggest you remove the old driver first before install this version driver.

At YOUR motherboard's website, I don't see the notice on this one. But I do see it on the one before...

Well, well. Isn't that interesting (thank you for pointing that out).

Now begs the question... what the heck is this?

    Mom's:

    Mine:

Damn. On Mom's C:\ AMD is 41.0 MB and on mine 37.7 MB. OK so... uninstall and reattempt?

The installed size may be different depending on other factors. With a newer physical chipset, your motherboard may not need as much of the chipset driver as your mom's does.

BUT... you can uninstall and reinstall yours if you want. It won't hurt anything.

Also... I don't use Armoury Crate. I always uninstall/install chipset drivers, manually.

This doesn't help, but I had no problem installing the update on my two X570 systems. I admit they're on Win 11.

I'm assuming it isn't in fact properly installed because of the "Current Version: N/A".

As I said this is my first problem like this. Do I need to/is it safe to restart after uninstalling this to have another go at it?

    Thanks guys.

If it's necessary to reboot, Windows will tell you.

Uh... I am not seeing any "AMD" anything within actual Control Panel "Programs and Features", nor the newer Settings one's "Apps & Features".

Edit: It is present on Mom's in both locations. Not mine.

So, uh... what now? (Please tell me I don't have to Clean Install)

If you don't see it in Programs & Features, then it's not installed.

So, put the chipset driver on your desktop and install it.
If your copy of Malwarebytes has a real time scanner... you should temporarily disable that, till you get the chipset driver installed.

So I assume in this case I need to delete the C:\ AMD folder and just hope that works?
