Uninstall HP ENVY 5020 All-in-One Printer

Having immense difficulty in removing a HP ENVY 5020 All-in one printer from Windows 10.
Uninstalled, deleted device etc but still traces left.
Finally resorted to REGEDIT to delete all keys referencing “HP ENVY” but this was rejected for various keys referencing the Scanner part.
    e.g. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\PnpLockdownFiles\%System Root%/system32/HPScanTEDrv_EN5000_x64.dll

Also could not delete the various .DLL’s for the scanner.
NB. After this has been completed there will be no printer or scanner attached to Win 10.

    Can anyone help?

I was wary of deleting multiple keys - is this safe?

FWIW, I used the following steps to uninstall an HP Envy 5660 from several machines, always with success. I don't know if "any traces" are left, but I have no problem reinstalling or installing a different HP printer.

Remove previous HP Envy 5660 printer drivers by doing the following:
    a. Turn off printer and uninstall any HP software under programs
    b. Remove device HP Envy 5660 under Control Panel/Devices and Printers
    c. Run “printui.exe /s” and under Drivers tab, remove any HP Envy 5660 drivers and packages
    d. Reboot the PC

    Thanks garyb0125 for quick reply:
I did all those steps, but it left literally hundreds of entries in the Registery. It is just the remaining few I cannot get rid of.
As to reinstalling: Since a Microsoft engineer connecting remotely gave up after over 2 hours trying to get the HP ENVY 5020 driver to be accepted and I have spent days on this, I would like to get rid of everything before trying to re-install again.
NB. "printui /s /t2" goes straight to the drivers tab.

    @Phill H S -

    Welcome to Windows Ten Forums!

Please try this - worth a shot:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...b-e9f927e1eb4d

Personally, I wouldn't have touched the Registry, unless there was a problem.
Always image (backup) your system first, in case you need to restore it.

If the above troubleshooter does not work -

    Try removing the driver manually.

Press Windows + R and type devmgmt.msc and click on OK.Expand the categories and look for your printer.

    • Right click on it and select uninstall
    • Make sure to keep a check on the box which says, delete drivers.
    • Restart the PC and check.

Thanks Compumind: Tried all those as well and taken an image backup, however that does not allow recovery of just user files.
Plan B is to take another copy of all user files and re-install Win 10. "Start > Settings > Recovery > Reset This PC"
but given all the problems a bit nervous of trying that as not my PC. Also warned this takes 12+ hours even on fast cable B/Band.
