HP Pro Book- no boot- "PC needs to be repaired" error 0x0000034-

I need to reformat my hard drive but am unable to load the bios setup or anything. It finally says "your pc needs to be repaired, error code 0x0000034"
when I select boot options the only options listed are : boot from efi file or notebook ethernet ipv4.
I just want to get a cmd prompt so I can use diskpart to re-partition. Windows 10 Pro
    Any help would be appreciated...

Hello geno368 and welcome to TF

Boot from a Windows Install USB and SHIFT-F10 to get command prompt not working?

    This may be useful:

Your easiest option would of course be to boot to a live boot disk as you have a problem with your internal disk - but you say you can't boot to BIOS/UEFI.

    Have you tried this?
    https://support.hp.com/ca-en/documen...651-2318005-16

    What have you tried?

I also don't understand why you think you need to partition the disk- when you clean install Win 10, Windows creates its own partitions. You install to unallocated space, no to an existing partition.

Or do you have some special requirement?

I also think you should check your disk, as clearly something unpleasant has happened. A suitable live boot disk would help there, or should you succeed in installing Win 10 you could do it then.
E.g. Crystal Diskinfo (basic): Hard Disk Sentinel - excellent - also valid for SSDs.

Steve108 & dalchina, I cannot get into the bios...it is locked with a password which I don't know...
I started to work with diskpart to clean and reformat 2 days ago and I don't think I did it right as I have never used the program...now I can't get in. I even put another working Win 10 h/drive in it with same results and error 0x0000225. I even tried a Linux cd...These laptops were donated to a church for use in Africa missionary work and I volunteered to see if I could get them going at no charge...Thanks again for your reply and hope you can help us further..

With AC disconnected I would pull the CMOS battery out for 10/20 minutes to clear the CMOS/BIOS password so you can take control of this PC BIOS if it belongs to you. It may also have BIOS clear jumpers, etc. You can google.

You can search for diskpart tutorial on Google, YouTube, etc or try

What was on the Windows 10 HD?

Were the partitions MBR or GPT?

Since you cannot open the BIOS each can be tried.

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums

Insert a Win 10 installation USB drive and during POST launch the Boot Menu. Select to boot from the USB drive and do a clean install.

Removing the CMos battery won't clear the BIOS password. If it's a HP I have a master PW.

    You may be right.
I had a HP old laptop that had a startup password. Once powered on it asked for a PW.
I did remove the CMos battery and it didn't clear the PW.
I used the Master PW - BIOS Master Password Generator for Laptops
