SSD shows in BIOS/Not Windows Comp Mgmt

I recently purchased a new AMD laptop running Win10 Pro 19044.1469, with two FireCuda 530 SSDs, C (boot - 1TB) and D (storage 2 TB).

Occasionally, the D:/storage drive won't show in Windows (PC mgmt, Explorer, device mgr, etc.) after booting. It continues to show in the BIOS. If I boot into the BIOS, and save and exit (w/o making any changes), it always shows up). Drive or BIOS firmware issue? I have fast startup disabled/unchecked as it would almost always not show up with that enabled.

Any ideas about the randomness of this? I've reached out to Seagate and they need a serial number, but would need to break it open to find that. E-tailer said they'd replace them with other drives, but wanted to see first if any other options to try first.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. You can get the serial number with Seagate tools and also check for firmware updates test the drive etc

I had run that, but funny thing is that it only shows the C: drive. The D: drive shows everywhere else in Windows currently, but SeaTools doesn't pick it up. Is it installed wrong? Sadly, it's the one I need the serial number for. Config attached.SSD shows in BIOS/Not Windows Comp Mgmt-drives.png

Sorry, wrong dl. Thanks for the tip...found the correct link and it does show serial number, but when I plug it in to Seagate's site, it says no firmware found for that serial number.

Check "Disk Management" and see if the drive is there, and if it has a drive letter or not. If not, assign one - Change and Assign Drive Letter in Windows 10

You shouldnt need the paid version. Sounds like there is a problem with the firmware.

You will need to persuade seagate what you have done to try and get the serial. Is it not printed on the box and on the front/back of the drive case?

According to this photo it is

See disk mgmt attachment above. Also, it's a laptop ... didn't buy the drives as was part of the laptop config. Thanks. I was running the wrong Crystal app...found the right one, but serial numbers don't help - they probably want what was on the box. It does say both drive are in good health! May just have to RMA it all.

Crystal Disk Info app will show you the serial number and it's free.

Please, no shills from Mr. DiskIngenous about this.
