Thumb drive or external SSD for best quality storage ?

I wonder if there is any difference in quality of photos, videos, musics, softwares and games store in a thumb drive
compare to external SSD because of the difference in physical size ? For example a/v stored in laser disc produce better quality than video CD due to the difference in size. I need precise opinions.

The quality of the file is all that matters, not the storage media itself.

For long term storage, I trust external SSD more.

I thought good quality files require good quality and size of storage media to preserve it's original quality ?

How would the size of the files store between a thumb drive and external SSD make huge difference ? I have about
a terabytes files to store. Anyway i have been using thumb drive for storage and getting a external usb ssd today to
see if there is any difference.

The difference is entirely due amount of compression required to fit the file onto a smaller media. If you choose to increase the jpeg compression on your photos, or the mp3 compression of your audio, to get them to fit on a small thumb drive they will inevitably loose quality. But the choice is yours when making the file, where you store it once made has no bearing on its quality.

The quality is entirely dependent on the data format used to make the file. The same file stored on the smallest and cheapest thumb drive or the largest and fastest SSD will be exactly the same quality when reproduced.
