Bluetooth stuffed, how to install older Windows driver?
I did a fresh install of Windows 10 after getting a new SSD.
While Bluetooth was not perfect, it was acceptable on my old installation. Now it's completely stuffed. I reverted to installing the old SSD and checking all my drivers, to find that the Bluetooth drivers installed for my Bluetooth headphones have a bigger number (I assume newer) on the fresh installation.
Old version: Provider = Microsoft, Version = 10.0.19041.1202
New version: Provider = Microsoft, Version = 10.0.19041.1387
At first I would pair, however sound would only come through as (hands free) and it has the bitrate of an abacus. When it did connect properly (says "music" as well in the Bluetooth settings) it also caused sound to completely drop out when I tried using it to play a game, switching between mic only and sound only. Now it pairs, but often refuses to connect at all. Sometimes it connects, only for it to not provide sound at all, and dropping out shortly after anyway. The degradation between old and fresh is astounding.
I even just had my WiFi refuse to work and had to restart my laptop. I don't know if it's related, but it's overall been a worse experience since I went the fresh install.
So now I would like to install the old driver and see if that makes a difference, but I have no idea how to get it. It's just a generic Windows update type number, and even though I backed up all my drivers (with DISM) from my old install, I have no idea what's what, if even any of them would be it.
If anyone knows how to extract/pinpoint the driver from my old installation, and how to force it on this one, that would be fantastic.
