Problem with Seagate Hard Drive in windows 10

1, Since my system has upgraded to windows 10 my seagate hard drive is not recognised any more and I've no idea what's on it or how to use it to back up data.

The light comes on when it's plugged it but my computer will not pick it up at all. I look for solutions online and then followed some steps to create a new partition D - but not sure what I've achieved by doing that or even what it means.

Can anyone help me find this device and explore what's already on it, possibly delete whatever is on it and then use it for back up plus storage ?

    2. is it possible to somehow transfer photos from an iphone or window phone to this device to store or would they have to be downloaded first to the comp ?

    3. whilst I was looking online for solutions yesterday I came across info which suggested my comp will no longer support windows 10/ or be able to upgrade beyond windows 10 by 2025 - is that correct ?
    thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum. Window's ten does run out in 2025. Can you post a screenshot from disk manager so we can see the drive it may just need a drive letter assignment

Hello SuperMoon and welcome to TF ,

    Re #3:
Windows 10 will continue to be supported until October 2025 unless MS decides to extend that date:

Your PC doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11, so you can continue to use Windows 10 safely for now.

    Hello @SuperMoon,

    Once again, Welcome to TenForums.

Although your PC has not got the required specifications it is possible to upgrade to Windows 11, but if I'm honest, it's not worth it.

    THIS IS MY OPINION
I upgraded to Windows 11 and gave it a try for a few months. I eventually had to go back to Windows 10 I despised it so much. Personally, I'm staying with Windows 10 until 2025. If I did have the choice (And it was still supported) I would go for Windows 7 any day of the week. But since we've got to make-do, I'm running Win10 on my main machine.

    @James,
    Mr Bond
I would not suggest/recommend/advise anyone upgrade unsupported hardware to 11 without first warning them that they may one day wake up to find that M$ won't provide them with updates since they installed 11 to unsupported hardware.

My current opinion is that Windows 11 is a downgrade to be avoided - so yes, I agree 1000% - especially for people with unsupported HW - unless they want to take the risk of no future upgrades and they understand the downgrades in 11.

    Doc1.docx

    Hi Samuria , James, everyone

here is a screen shot on the attached document - hope I've done that right (couldn't copy paste straight into the message)

Big thanks to you and to everyone for such a warm welcome and for your time assisting others.

Ok I get it - so windows 10 no longer supported after 2025.
I'm currently on an imac but have bootcamped so I reside in the windows side and have always been apprehensive about switching to mac, mainly because i am so used to the windows keyboard, but I think that support ending in 2025 will be the push needed to migrate over to mac by then - hopefully.

It guess I'm in the everyone category

Downloading a .docx is a security hazard, so share your information with a screenshot or .txt file, etc:
