Anyone with a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse?

I have the Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center installed for my Microsoft Bluetooth mouse (this model). For some reason, every time when turning on my Microsoft BT mouse and it connects to my PC, a silent CLR20r3 error appears in my Windows logs/Reliability monitor. The mouse is connecting and working fine. I have deleted and paired the mouse again but the error keeps appearing every time I connect. The command sfc /scannow does not show any corruption.

    Here's the silent crash log:

I'm using Windows 10 Pro 21H2 and an internal Ubit WIE7625 Bluetooth 4.2/Wifi card.

Is anyone else seeing these error logs with a similar Microsoft bluetooth mouse?

Look at the pointed out things in the image below.

Anyone with a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse?-2022-01-05-18_56_51-window.png

These files must be downloaded (through drivers) and in the correct place. You can simply check by going to
    Code:
    C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\bluetoothmousethemenotificationdriver.inf_amd64_2e0b6 4a02f0c9539\BluetoothMouseThemeNotification.exe
and seeing if they are there, working etc. Run these apps to see what happens.

The directory and .exe file are already there. When double-clicking the .exe file the cursor shows a loading icon and that's it (probably a background app). The logs show no error/crashes when doing this.

I see. I’ll continue looking at your problem but I’m not completely sure of the fix yet.

That error appears to be in the MS Mouse and Keyboard centre application, so the obvious first try is just to uninstall that.

.NET Framework also gets a mention, if an application requires a certain version the necessary is downloaded from MS.

I use the mice as in the image, all just use whatever is in Windows 10 for drivers. First is a very similar MS BT Mouse to yours.

The MS Mouse & Keyboard centre is not installed for either MS BT mice, or the Logitech BT mouse equivalent for the M535.

Bluetooth is just a standard part of the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x wireless network adapter.

They all work fine as regards functionality, which is why the MS & Logitech apps are not installed. I get no errors.

Thanks for your time. Do you happen to have the same or similar Microsoft BT mouse?

.NET Framework is already updated, and I have already reinstalled the MS Mouse & Keyboard centre but no avail. This makes me very curious whether your mouse would also give the same errors if MS Mouse & Keyboard centre is installed in your case.

I have had this one in black for several years, most recently using on a Dell Inspiron 11 11" Notebook and running Linux Mint, haven't had any problems with it even back a few years when running Windows on it.

I also have a Sculpt for use on a table/desk, bigger and heavier than the other.

Did you install the Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard Centre along with it when using that mouse?

Didn't need to as the Notebooks I'm using BT mice on have the feature as part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter, just have to do the Pairing and Connecting. I do have one HP Notebook without the BT part but have USB dongles to provide it.

Ah, that's probably the reason why those crashes in the logs didn't appear at your end. I need the software so I can also set the shortcut keys on my MS keyboard. Hence wondering whether this is a reproducible issue with the mouse.
