    Code:
        Disk 0 : SSD. It has 4 partition(s). Model: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 1TB
Disk 1 : HDD. It has 1 partition(s). Model: WD My Passport 0827
Disk 2 : SSD. It has 2 partition(s). Model: Corsair Voyager GTX
Disk 3 : USB. It has 1 partition(s). Model: Lexar USB Flash Drive

Re the discussion at windows - How to remove "phantom" drive letters? - Super User - di you try the mountvol commands?
    mountvol T: /D or mountvol /R
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I tried that. But the results of mountvol T: /D is that it isn't found.
mountvol /R got rid of anything in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices that wasn't plugged in. However, T was listed even before.

Just a suggestion try Nirsoft's USBDeview. It can uninstall previously used devices and more.

View any installed/connected USB device on your system (nirsoft.net)

    Do you make backup images?

Were you aware that Windows RE was disabled?

because I use Mathew's vbs files for updating, I have to undo those changes first.
Run "Undo_the_changes.vbs" and select only (1) as shown below:

Then, you may run the following batch script:

Again, I want to thank everyone for all your patience & help.

In Post#21 , I have an image of USB Remove app here,

which lets me assign a second drive to a drive letter that is fixed to another drive. It says I can do this as long as both drives are connected at the same time. Since letter T is assigned to this particular thumbdrive, which it no longer recognizes, I clicked that entry & applied it.

Just to clarify, I checked the box as follows:
Is there a way to unassign drive letter?-image.png

The app, USB Remove, wouldn't let me just change the drive letter to T, since it was, according to Windows, fixed to another drive. In that regard, it worked just like Disk Management...when I changed to T, the drive immediately changed back. However, clicking to share the drive letter T worked.

I can now plug in that drive & use it as Drive T. I can remove it & reinsert it & it will show up as Drive T. I edited my destination in Macrium Reflect to Drive T again & I’ll know tomorrow if that works.

In the future, I now know that:
    1. If I still have the drive with the fixed letter, I can use USB Remove app to "unfix" it by ticking the box to remove the "fixed" letter.
    2. If I've lost the fixed drive (or Windows won't recognize it), I can just use the app to "share" the fixed letter.

Re the discussion at windows - How to remove "phantom" drive letters? - Super User - di you try the mountvol commands?
    mountvol T: /D or mountvol /R
Yes, but they didn't help. mountvol T: /D said it couldn't find the volume

Just a suggestion try Nirsoft's USBDeview. It can uninstall previously used devices and more.

View any installed/connected USB device on your system (nirsoft.net)
This looks like an interesting utility. Thank you for the suggestion.

    Do you make backup images?

Were you aware that Windows RE was disabled?
I make backup images daily. I wasn't aware that Windows RE was disabled. Did you mean in Macrium Reflect? I don't recall whether my rescue drive has Windows PE or RE.

Thank you. But I decided the easiest way to do this was to assign two drives to the same fixed letter...Windows thinks it's two drives but it's always been just one drive.

I ran Reagentc /enable in administrative Powershell & it said operation successful. As I said earlier, I'm not sure whether PE or RE is on my rescue disk.

Thank you again for all your help, but I ended up "solving" this with USB Remove.
