I have Firefox with 10 Tabs, 8G of memory and never seen more than 60% in use.

As it is an 3 years old laptop it has an old Win 10 version. As soon as you begin to start using it it began to download and preparing to upgrade. And this process uses a lot of memory and CPU.
When done it will work normally.

    Hello @kmint,

Generally, it normally takes a day or two for new computers to settle down. When first switched on, they automatically perform processes such as checking for Windows Updates, indexing, etc.

I would check Device Manager to see if there are ANY Yellow Triangles.

I would also check the manufacturers Website for Updated Drivers.

You could of course, Clean Install the OS using a genuine ISO burnt to a USB, although I do NOT know if this would void the warranty.

If you are NOT happy with it, then return it, otherwise there is a possibility that in the future you will regret NOT returning it.

    I hope this helps.
