    10 upgrade

I have two computers, X55U ASUS, Precision 690 Dell. Upgraded both to W10. 690 works almost perfectly, no issues yet!
ASUS lost the left-click on the Start button; the capability to read/write DVD's, but can read and play, but not write CD's.
I've been searching since install for a fix, but all the fixes I've found don't work, including adding a "DeviceNum1" to
    atapi in the Registry.

I installed the "Classic Menu" and now the Start button works like it is supposed to. However I still cannot use left-click
on shortcuts to the taskbar, except those on the far right.
    Any thoughts?

For the X55U (notebook): Any yellow exclamation points in Device Manager? Maybe you need some additional drivers. I don't know whether it's likelier because it's based on an AMD APU. (I certainly needed to do some driver updates on my 2008 vintage Compaq CQ50-105NR: AMD QL60 CPU, nVidia motherboard chipset, nVidia onboard graphics).

If you really want to minimize problems, clean install 10 on the machine:

    Thanx for the attention!

This is the odd part...it appears in device manager as "other devices" and correctly identifies the make and model of the drive, says device is 'working properly', but in Explorer, it appears as a CD Drive, and will not read DVD's or burn anything.

I've been looking since about July 20, and did a lot of research, but nothing I found worked.
