    Uninstalling printer

    Guys
I am thinking of UNinstalling my HP Envy 4527 printer, then reinstalling it as I hope it may solve a couple of problems.

Thing is, I no longer have the disk but I hear the software can be downloaded.

Can anyone give me simple instructions to do this BEFORE I UNinstall it please

    Hello @frenchman96,

Funny enough, I just went through the same process for an old HP LaserJet P2055dn Printer that had NO Wireless capability. It was NOT easy, but I thought that I would share my experience with you in the hope that it might make your life easier.

I started by doing all the usual searches, which I must admit, gave me MANY MANY options, but they pretty much all involved downloading big [ 600 MB for example ] Driver Packages, which is obviously NOT what I wanted. Also, you never quite know what else is packaged within them, such as Viruses, Malware, Spyware, etc.

Anyway, I narrowed the search criteria down to actual specifics, like I only wanted the Driver, and NOT the all singing, all dancing, full blown Printer Package.

    My specifics were . . .

    • It had to be an HP Compatible Driver.
    • Run on Win 10.
    • An HP Universal Driver PCL 6.
    • HP Customer Support.
    • Software and Driver Downloads.

Once I narrowed the search down to these specifics, I found what I was looking for pretty quickly, and surprisingly, it was hidden deep within an HP Website.

I found this for you which may, or may NOT, be what you are looking for . . .

    > Software and drivers for HP ENVY 4527 All-in-One Printer

    It includes . . .

    • Driver-Product Installation Software (1)
    • Basic Drivers (1) - HP ENVY 4520 series Basic Driver - IT Professional Use only
    • Firmware (1) - HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update
    • Software-Utility (1) - HP ENVY 4520 series Print and Scan Driver and Accessories
    • Utility-Diagnostic Tools (1) - HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

I would recommend however, that you stay AWAY from third-party utilities and software if you can, as you never know what else is bundled along with the Drivers [ Malware, Spyware, Viruses, Trojans etc ].

One further option is to Backup your existing Installed Drivers, but this may, or may NOT work, I have never tried performing it this way . . .

    > How to Backup and Restore Device Drivers in Windows 10

For uninstalling, you could use this if it appears in Programs and Features . . .

     Revo Uninstaller - FREE

    About Revo Uninstaller - FREE:

The Uninstaller module is Revo Uninstaller ‘s primary feature for situations when a program won’t uninstall normally or when you have some doubts that a program has not been uninstalled completely.

Also when a program is uninstalled, often times there are multiple files, folders, and/or Registry entries left on your system, which can cause various issues if not removed. This happens more frequently than you might think.

Revo Uninstaller acts as both a replacement and a supplement to the built-in functionality in Windows by first running the built-in uninstaller for the program, and then scanning for leftover data afterwards, making it your best choice when it comes to completely remove stubborn programs, temporary files, and other unnecessary program data that is left behind after the standard uninstall process.

I find that when uninstalling software, Revo Uninstaller [ FREE ] is excellent. It has an option to Scan for leftover items after the initial uninstall [ using the software own uninstall process if one exists ] using an Advanced Scan option.

    > Website & Download => Revo Uninstaller [ FREE ]

    I hope this helps.

Thanks a lot but the link opened up the same as one Rayal gave me, its basically the download lin k for HP Smart.

I already have it and I agree with you on Revo, I also have that and only use Revo for UNinstalling.

Its just that I cant see any options on HP Smart. I think I will contact HP Support Ireland as they were excellent the other day.
