    HHD

I'm wondering, I have a 4.5TB HD. On that drive I would like to make 1 partition to receive files, browse files, and write files. What I don't want to happen is if I go to reformat the HD or want to delete that partition I can't!

By the way I had install Windows 11 and I don't like it at all. I've played around with it, to get lose for sure! It's not going to be my cup of tea at least for another 5 years. In the meantime, I'm sticking with Windows 10 and I have UNIX to play around with as I have two raspberry pi's and working on getting a webserver and vpn on one, and on the other one I already made a home NAS, which works great! So I'm sticking with 10 until no more updates are available.
    Just venting.

Post a screen shot of Disk Management, with it stretched out so we can see all of it.
Also need to see top and bottom... like this...

As for making partitions... that's pretty easy. A lot of us use Minitools Partition Wizard for that.

It's free... MiniTool Partition Wizard | Best partition magic alternative for Windows PC and Server

You can right click any partition and see the items in the RED square...

As for that timing, Microsoft's announced end of support for Win10 is October 14, 2025.

I've no major issue with Win11, things have been rearranged but so far what I've needed have been found, just a relearning I need for the future when one or more of my clients decide to go with it, to which end I found a decent deal on a new 14" Dell Vostro Notebook, has Win11.

Hey Ghot I think your way off base here. My original post was this "I'm wondering, I have a 4.5TB HD. On that drive I would like to make 1 partition to receive files, browse files, and write files. What I don't want to happen is if I go to reformat the HD or want to delete that partition I can't!"

What does your reply have to do with what I asked?
    Thanks

Why would you not be able to reformat or delete that partition? What would keep you from doing it?

    Hi @timlab55,

As an example, this is my internal SSD. It is separated into 3 partitions. I can read/write independently in each partition. D and E can also be formatted/deleted any time without affecting C.

Was there anything else in particular you were worried about?
