Faulty colour cartridge which also has the printhead, or it has not been inserted correctly and the electrical contacts not being made.
You can try repeated colour cartridge insertions to get the contacts a bit cleaner, if that does not work then likely to be a faulty cartridge even if from HP, it does happen.
The solution maybe just to get another cartridge.
There is the HP Smart App in the MS Store. Has a lot of functionality unlike a lot of these type of Apps.
If it is still not printing colour on a test page, proviidng it is configured to print it in colour then as my colleagues have said and I mentioned at the start =it was wireless until 1 hour ago, now have it near me for convenience and using USB
check ink levels
IF GOOD - run the clean print heads maintenance
What I do not think I have asked is
When did it stop printing colour and more to the point - when did it last print colour.
IF colour is ONLY used rarely the print head/s on the colour can dry out.
Lots more help, am impressed>>>
1- ink levels ok, black getting low, but new one on way from my contract with HP Ink, colour level fine.
2- I will admit, I normally have it set to B/W as no need normally for colour.
3-it probably stopped 2 weeks ago
4- as a layman, I do wonder if it's the Łgreyscale" setting ??
I suggested that on my first reply - post 2as a layman, I do wonder if it's the Łgreyscale" setting ??
What is the make and full model of the printer
Will it print a test page in colour
Are the colour cartridges shown on ink levels as OK
Depending on what you are using to print - the print in greyscale appears as shown on the screenshot OR of course in printer properties and settings
and also mentioned it on post 4
I do not think you have actually confirmed either of those settings.then click preferences and another window should open showing printer properies with ink levels OR a click to shown these
and the print in greyscale OR colour
As in your user manual

With reference to this
as I saidI will admit, I normally have it set to B/W as no need normally for colour.
it probably stopped 2 weeks ago
IF colour is ONLY used rarely the print head/s on the colour can dry out. So it may be necessary to clean the print head/s
Mr Ed
Do you have HP Printer Assistant for your printer? >>>just installed it
With it you can check ink levels, print a test page, and clean print heads.>>>cant see any of those options
Here is HP Printer Assistant for my HP printer.>>>>looks different than mine
Hi Guys
I do apologize appearing to be a bit slow, but I must emphasise a few things.
It is MY failure to take in all of the suggestions, but again, not always when I follow those suggestions, do i get the same options you mention.
For the record, I already have "print & scan doctor" "hp smart" and now "hp support assistant".
To make matters worse *but can be ignored for now", it won't print wirelessly now although it tells me I am connected. If I go into the ST and c/o "signal, I have choice of c/o HP Envy connection or my landline Talk Talk, but not at same time.
