I will check out the firmware update. I have tried emailing them but no answer. It does connect but only when it wants to -- which is obviously frustrating. Also, do smart phones have mp3 player technology? Just a question out of interest. I probably won't be getting one although they do appear to do it ALL! Thanks again for your thoughts.

    Patrice,

    Yes, they do.

    I used to have
    - mobile phone [old-style, just voice calls & text messages]
    - digital camera
    - SIM-card dongle on the computer as a mobile broadband connection
    - mp3 player
    - [when travelling light] stacks of written notes about key info as well as paper maps
Then I bought an Android smartphone so I had a single lump that replaced all of them.

Is there any pattern to your Ruizu-Earbuds combination working / no working? Does it routinely work if you do it straight after turning the Ruizu back on, just for example?

I did see that in your post re: mp3 player on smart phone. I guess it was more a statement of believability - "really they do that too" more than anything. Regarding sequential actions - I follow the manual which says turn on headset before mp3 player -- or phone -- which is what they refer to as the paired device. I do think it may be sequential actions. It seems like you should turn off the mp3 player first and then the earbuds. Sort of like, last in, first out...Last being the mp3 player being turned on and then turned off first b/f the headset. Doesn't seem to work -- all the time. I tried writing steps down and duplicating the steps but it gets jumbled. Hard to explain. Sorry. I'll keep at it. I am going to check the firmware update tomorrow - just been busy so haven't. Thanks again. You are very helpful.

Happy to help. If I'm not in the forum over the weekend then I'll definitely be here on Monday.

I went to the link you posted for the firmware update. Unfortunately, Malwarebytes sees it as a suspicious file and advises against it. I am always leery about not following their advice. I will just keep getting it to work - sometimes - and be happy with that -- as long as it works -- sometimes. Thanks again.

    What exactly does it say?
Personally, I'd download it then scan it with Microsoft Defender to get a second opinion.

Hi - This is what is says:

    IIS 8.5 详细错误 - 404.0 - Not Found tool 2.06 version.rar

Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocks downloads that either come from websites that see relatively light traffic or may contain potentially malicious content. This is intended to protect you from new scams. However, if you trust content from this site and would like to proceed, click "Continue."

I got it to work again this morning - it's a bit of a clunky thing but it does work. I wrote down the steps I took better than previously so I will try to duplicate those steps. I am not sure what version this player is - checked the Riuzu site and the Amazon site -- no info. A few folks on the Amazon site said the player stopped working after the firmware update so I think I'll avoid. Once again, thanks for your thoughts.

I just wanted to let all who helped me with my earbud dilemmas that I have been using them faithfully for quite a while now and do not have any problem connecting. They are great. Thanks again to all.

    Patrice,

    Glad it's all working out.

Just out of interest, have you tried using them without recharging to find out if the claimed 9 hour battery life is accurate?

Made a note when I charged them so we shall see. I only use them less than 4 hours a week. I take quick short walks -- about 15 minutes twice daily plus bits and pieces around the house. It will be more in warm weather however. Thanks again.
