In the hope that I found the right manual for the right earphones, I've tidied it up into a PDF file
    - I sacrificed quality for size so the text looks scruffy.
    - The text in the file is searchable.

Perhaps all for naught...:-( I am going to return them) --- I have funny ears and only certain types of earbuds fit and stay in my ears. I did some more sleuthing on Amazon and found a reasonable pair with an ear loop which should keep them in my ear. If I could get these to work without going thru more pain, I would figure out a way to keep them in my ear but it doesn't seem worth the effort. You have given enough time to this project which I totally appreciate but I think returning them is best. I am confident the ear loop will work. It's just too annoying to move my head a bit and out the bud falls. Here is a brief picture of what I'm considering:

I had problems keeping mine [my current ones are a similar type] in my ear until I tried the smallest plastic caps [like yours, I was given a selection of 3 cap sizes] and they have not fallen out since.
    - Even the medium sized caps were useless for me so I was at the point of giving up but tried the smallest ones just for completeness.

My first earphones were like the ones you are now considering.
    - I think these are what you are looking at Amazon.com
    - They are indeed difficult to lose. And the over-ear bits do help them not slip out.
    - I always found their charging connection awkward to put in.
    - Their power does not last as long as the first ones because they don' have the little base unit-charger to be put back into temporarily. But Otium's claimed 9 hour battery life is pretty useful on its own.
    - Here is their Otium webpage Bluetooth Headphones, Otium Best Wireless Sports Earbuds, Waterproof I | Otiumobile Direct
    - And a link to the [useless] user manual https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/17...62509673023499
    - Pairing advice is at https://www.amazon.com/ask/questions...d_dp_lla_ql_ll
    Otium said:
open your phone bluetooth first, then long press the power button of the headphones for 7-8s to make the headphones come into pairing model(Red light and blue lights flicker alternately),and you could search the "otium" in your phone bluetooth list to pair with.
If you have any question with the headphones, you could contact the Support Email (support@otiumobile.com).

Having said all that, it is your choice. I do not think the earphones have caused your problems. But if you cannot get a decent fit then you'll have to change.

Whatever you decide, come back here when you are ready -
    - Please tell me if I found the right manual for the mp3 player.
    - If you keep the current ones, please unpair them from the Dell.
    - If you get new ones, go straight for pairing them with the mp3 player or come back here before you've even tried. I'm happy to study the mp3 player manual once I know it's the right one.

    All the best,
    Denis

Thank you for all of that. I tried the smallest caps as well. They would stay in better but if I tilted my head or sneezed (god help us!) out they would fall. I really appreciate all the links regarding the ones I am considering. Yes, that is the correct manual for the Riuzu mp3 player.

I will check out the links you provided or perhaps I will check out other types of the ear loop variety for their charging options.
    Thanks again. You're super!!

Again, this is something that is up to you but when I search for something on Amazon, I dismiss anything that has more than 10% of its user reviews at 1 or 2 stars [if 10% of people say they are unhappy then 20%+ probably are].
I also dismiss one with less than 100 user reviews most of the time as well - because the stories I've heard about fake reviews tend to mention fewer than that [only last week I read of a ring of fake reviewers boasting about having got 78 fake reviews in Amazon].

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Good advice re: percentage of one/two star by consumers: this device is at 6% one star and 5% 2 stars so I stepped over the line a bit. 8800 ratings/reviews. We'll give it a go! Thanks again.
If I can get them to work with my mp3 player I will be very happy.

Do you prefer it to work with the MP3 player rather than the Kindle? :)

Well both would be nice but the mp3 is preferred. I want to listen to audio books on my walks and the mp3 player is small. Thanks.

Hello Denis - Success! Got them paired to the Riuzu. Had a bit of a snarl when after pairing on the Bluetooth page as in how do I get to my audio books. Every time I went to that menu, the headset would disconnect. I finally figured out to turn off the headset - then go to the audio book page and then turn headset back on. They stay paired too, right? They sound fine - it is just an audio book after all. These gadgets may be made for versatility but they sure ain't made for looks. I look like I'm ready to join the next Bezo trip to the big sky. But, I like them as they stay in my ears due to the loop so I guess all is well. If I run into a problems, I will let you know.

One last question, if I get a Bluetooth transmitter for my tv, with another headset for my partner, they will be independent of my audio book headset, yes?
Thanks again for you patient help. Regards, Patrice

    Patrice,

Yes, once paired things stay paired.

I'm glad you got it paired to the mp3 player because that was your original aim.

I don' know anything about adding Bluetooth to TVs. If I was going to try, I'd work out a shortlist on Amazon then study the product pages to see if I could learn enough from them about the subject. And I'd probably also do a general internet search for add Bluetooth to TV in the hope that somebody had written a guide about it.
But, yes, another set of Bluetooth headphones would be entirely separate from these ones.

And you ought also to be able to pair your current ones to the TV's Bluetooth whenever you wanted to. The only problem I ever had pairing with different devices was that, without any logic that I could see, I had to unpair from one device before I could pair successfully with another. The Bluetooth unit on the TV would be able to pair with more than one set of headphones at the same time [just as, for example, my computer's Bluetooth module can connect with and use both my Bluetooth mouse and a Bluetooth keyboard]. It's just the headphones themselves that might need to be messed about with.

    All the best,
    Denis
