Any website to download Microsoft drivers?

    Just so I know:

If I find that a Windows 10 Microsoft driver (not a third party driver) is corrupted or buggy, such as because the newest version updated with Windows Update has some issue with your PC. Is there any way to download the driver and previous versions of the driver.

I know you can try to roll it back or restore a restore point or reinstall it, but I sometimes miss the possibility of downloading it somewhere.

    Any help much appreciated

Drivers are written by the Computer / Motherboard or hardware manufacturer. If the manufacturer has an update, they usually make it available to Microsoft to push through Windows Updates. Microsoft does not write any drivers for anything but their hardware (ie) Microsoft Surface laptop. If a device is not working correctly, you can roll back to the previous driver, or go to your computer/motherboard or the Devices Manufacturers web site to download the driver.

    Hello @Frank15,

[1] Uninstall the Driver from Device Manager. Then Reboot.
[2] Check the Manufacturers Website for New or Updated Drivers. I prefer this option.

[3] Once ALL your Drivers are behaving themselves, it might be a good idea to . . .

    I hope this helps.

    Hello Frank,

You can search https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.asp for older versions of Microsoft drivers

Thanks for that. The issue I've found more than once as a tech, is that the manufacturer drivers are no longer available nor can they be rolled back or restored with a restore point. And the last version of the driver doesn't work well. So I wonder if there's any way I may download previous versions of the driver. Do you know of any site showing previous versions and download them if possible?

I think a solution may be to install a previous Windows version on a drive and it may contain a previous version of Windows drivers in its driverstore folder.

Unless you are collecting drivers from a computer that is the same Make and Model # with the same hardware. It won't help you much to copy drivers from the driverstore folder. Because the hardware, hence the drivers are different.

All drivers are available from the manufacturer. If it is a very old computer, then they may store them on a Legacy page. Individual drivers, for video cards or other peripherals will be available from the Hardware Manufacturer
As stated, any drivers that were posted on Windows Update, will be available thru the Windows Update Catalog.
