    device manager

Other devices - PCI and SM bus
There seems to be a device without drivers and Windows 11 cannot install the drivers.

Included in the clean installation was an Asus utility[motherboard) I never saw before so I x'd it out. I read about it and it could be shady. How can I find the device I need to get the drivers for without installing that Asus utility-even if I could find it.?

Usually, when you have one weird driver missing... it's probably part of the chipset driver.

I don't know anything about Intel chipset drivers, but I would look here in Device Manager...

Back in May 2020 I had an "Other Devices" driver missing.
This was on a brand new build with the latest drivers (the build in my specs).
After a few phone calls... to ASUS and then to AMD... someone said "get the latest AMD chipset driver", which I did...
    and it solved the problem.

I seem to remember telling ASUS... why don't you include the driver(s) necessary for a new motherboard, to take care of all the motherboard driver issues in Device manager?
I was kind of upset... a $300+ ASUS board with the latest AMD chipset, and the drivers that came with the board and/or the ones on the website, didn't take care of the problem.

After a few phone calls back and forth, I finally got an email with a link to the AMD chipset driver page, which solved the problem.

Your issue may be sort of the opposite. A motherboard with an "older" chipset, needing a chipset driver that supports Windows 11. I wish I could be more help, but I've been on AMD boards for the past 20 years.

The missing drivers may be part of the Intel MEI package. https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/m..._20190806R.zip

    Hi Ghot,

Would this link be different from the link they emailed you?

    https://www.amd.com/en/support

If it's different, can you share that link?

    Thanks!

    Acer C24-760

After swapping a standard HDD for a SSD with a fresh W10 installation on an Acer C24-760 I found these errors with drivers missing in device manager.
Everything seems to work fine though.
Trying to update the drivers is not working because it seems they are not there.
PCI Data Aquisition and Signal Processing Controller
    PCI Memory Controller
    PCI Simple Communication Controller
    PCI Bus Controller
In Windows update under "Optional updates" there are a whole bunch of "older" 2016 - 2017 drivers available mostly from Intel but I am hesitating to install them because of their age
    Regards,
    Robbie
